Lancome was founded in 1935 by Armand Petitean.While vacationing in the French countryside Petitjean's was exploring the ruins of a castle, Le Chateau de Lancosme and his inspiration for the company's symbol, a golden rose. In 1935 Lancome launched its first five fragrances Tendre Nuit, Boacages, Conquete, Kypre and Tropiques. Lancome expanded its business into makeup and skincare products. In 2007 Lancome launched it’s latest fragrance Trésor.
