Brut's tagline asserts that it is "the essence of man". I will however dispute this claim and argue that it is rather embodied in the fragrance of the unlikely cologne of Canoe. Everything about this scent conveys an aura of opulent country clubs, yachting on the north shore of Long Island in pink Izod polo shirts, and old waspy blue blooded money. For some, such imagery might be a definite turn off. For me, it's the ultimate manifestation of fragrant artistry in that it can derive from mere odor, images. Canoe is mellow yet robust; qualities that underly its unexpected and often dismissed complexity. It qualifies as a musk oriented fragrance with distinctive aromatic notes of spice and herb, thereby possessing a sort of fresh organic appeal.

What can be said about your first love. Canoe was the first cologne to catch my eye in my teens. It is clean and the citrus scent is long lasting. It has passed the test of time as Canoe has been around forever! A great addition for spring or summertime use.
